Application
It is used as an electrolyte in a Weston standard cell, a pigment in fluorescent screens. It is used in the manufacture of cadmium salts of fatty acids, pigments, in electroplating of cadmium in electronic circuits. It act as an intermediate, as an accelerator, in the electrode position of nickel & copper, for stabilizing plastics, in cement formation. It has the ability to absorb hydrochloric acid from waste gases from chemical plants.
