To test how fracture-resistant the alloy is, scientists exposed it to temperatures of minus 321 degrees Fahrenheit. As the temperature fell, the material's toughness only got progressively better, according to the study. This was especially surprising because most materials become more brittle the higher they get in freezing temperatures.
