SUS304 Stainless Steel

SUS304 stainless steel is one of the most commonly used stainless steels. It has a good cold workability, weldability, and corrosion resistance. However, it is subject to stress corrosion cracking in the case of high temperature exposure.

SUS 304 is a type of austenitic stainless steel, which is characterized by high nickel and chromium content. It also has a small amount of iron and silicon. Compared to other austenitic stainless steels, it is not magnetic.

SUS 304 is one of the most common grades of austenitic stainless steels. It is often used for applications in which the material needs to be able to withstand a variety of fusion processes. Its ability to do this is a result of its martensite composition.

Typical applications for 304 stainless steel include building decor, site furnishings, and food applications. Depending on its use, it can be subjected to different metal processes in high or low temperatures. In particular, it can be treated with a solution treatment. This heating treatment can range from 1050-1100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Aside from its strength and weldability, SUS 304 has an excellent cold workability and good corrosion resistance at room and elevated temperatures. It is also less thermally conductive than carbon steel.

SUS 304 is a good choice for various applications, but it may be susceptible to stresses and crevice corrosion in warm chloride environments. This can be mitigated by the use of a brazing process, which involves filling the space between SUS304 stainless steel plates with a brazed filler metal.
